visa issues

Hi all.

well, a plane ticket has been purchased! PTL

still, a visa has to be got and it is somewhat stressful. maybe it's just stressful because i'm in the moment. basically, it's kinda crazy with half of my documents in san mateo and the other half in riverside. anyway, prayer in this arena would be incredible. thanks so much!

squatties

i just got an AMAZING email from my field worker. he makes me laugh and remember the glories of south asia.

....and then he reminded me how the rest of the world goes to the bathroom: squatty potties. i haven't had much luck with them in the past. this sounds like such a stupid thing to ask prayer for, but really, i could use prayer in the squatty department. i don't get them. i know they are practical and cultural; i get that. i just don't get how to use them. so wisdom? boldness? get creative.

support letters

i almost had them out today, but then realized while at the post office that i forgot to put return address labels on them. oh goodness. i'm ready for the school year to be over!

you should be hearing from me soon via snail mail!

Welcome to the my blog!

I'll be using this blog to update you on the South Asian Adventure while preping for the trip as well as on the field, (hopefully). Feel free to leave comments and such.

Here's some info/legistics to get us started:

• as of today, i still have $3,900 to raise with no support letters out.
• insurance has been purchased.
• hopefully, i'll purchase my plane tickets some time this weekend.
• i'm still in the process of applying for a visa

Here are some prayer requests:

• heart prep for Sarah (my teammate) and I.
• unity for Sarah and I on the field.
• that the Father would continue to melt the hearts of the South Asian people
• that the legistics, (visa, money), would continue to be worked out
